Description:

The fish hook symbolises provision and prosperity, stemming from traditional times when the staple diet of the coastland Maori was bird and fish. A skilful fisherman worked hard and often risked his life to provide for his family. Because of his diligent efforts, his family and tribe were well cared for and so prospered.
Today, may prosperity come to those who truly deserve it, due to their hard work on behalf of those dear to them.
